Jai Wolf presents Blue Babu Live | Setlist exclusives and photos

By Anna “Monty” Montoya-Gaxiola

DJ and Electronic Dance Music (EDM) Producer Jai Wolf announced his Blue Babu Tour earlier this year. The first of the tour's 38 stops was in Phoenix. Wolf’s last appearance in the Valley was in March 2022 at the M3F festival, where he delivered a stellar performance. Wolf brought that same energy to The Van Buren a year later.

Wolf is no stranger to the EDM community. His beats and tempos are similar to Skrillex and ODESZA. Although his sounds exceed audience expectations, his ability to keep his audience engaged goes beyond his DJ skills. In every performance, Wolf and his team create a light show that is sure to keep your eyes attentive to the stage. Wolf has actively shared on his socials his gratitude toward his team for creating his background visuals and stage production. You can see behind the scenes videos to these moments via Wolf's Instagram (@jaiwolfx).

Vibe curators Devault and Tsu Nami warmed the crowd up in the hours earlier to Wolf’s performance.

Although you may have seen Wolf at a festival near you, Blue Babu marks a “new era” in his career, as mentioned on his Instagram. This tour features unreleased songs and an incredible display of lights that truly shows the attention to detail that took place when planning the Blue Babu Tour.

The setlist included audience favorites “Indian Summer,” “Still Sleeping,” “Moon Rider [feat. Wrabel],” “Lose My Mind [feat. Mr Gabriel],” and “Starlight [feat. Mr Gabriel].” As well as his newest hits “(I Dread The Day He Takes You To) Paris [feat. MYRNE],” “Tennis Skirt [feat. Ella Boh],” “Don’t Look Down [feat. BANKS],” and “Want It All [feat. Evalyn].”

Wolf’s fans have been anticipating a personal tour for years now. Although he had taken a break from doing his own tours, you may have seen him at his recent festival run. His greatest performances include his shows at EDC, Coachella, DAS Energi and more. Given his time away in intimate concerts, there was no doubt that he was ready to share his music in a room full of his biggest fans.

UNIA Zine was able to ask Wolf what this tour meant to him.

“This is my first tour in four years!! I feel incredibly lucky to be able to tour like this. Blue Babu Live is my best show yet and I can’t wait for everyone to see it,” Wolf said.
